Pakistan has implored the international community to implement a mechanism to safeguard the Palestinian people from the ongoing violence and oppression inflicted by Israeli forces.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasized the urgent need for concrete actions to shield the Palestinian population from the detrimental effects of the Israeli occupation.
Qureshi vehemently condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives, including those of innocent children. He urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its flagrant disregard for human rights and international law.
"The international community must act decisively to bring an end to the Israeli occupation and establish a lasting and just peace in the Middle East," Qureshi asserted.
Pakistan has consistently demonstrated unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. The nation has steadfastly advocated for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, envisioning East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.
Pakistan's call for a protective mechanism for Palestinians coincides with the forthcoming meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council, scheduled to discuss the deteriorating conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The council is anticipated to adopt a resolution condemning Israel's human rights violations and demanding an end to the occupation.
